After regrouping, the Ottensener continued to play in the Alster District League. There succeeded in the 1921/22 season a 4-3 win at HSV and the 07er secured the autumn championship. At the end of the season it was only enough to finish fourth.

Two years later, the team finished the first half of the season unbeaten before falling back to third place with three defeats in the second half of the season. After eleven years in the Hamburg upper house, the 07s had to step down from the first class in 1930 and never returned. In the years after the Second World War, the team did not get beyond the lower divisions. In 1953 Ottensen 07 merged with the factory association FC Grün-Weiß from 1953 to become Grün-Weiß Hamburg . This association in turn merged in 1976 with Eimsbütteler SV to become Grün-Weiss Eimsbüttel .
