Otto Bernau

Otto Bernau (born March 16, 1926 in Krems an der Donau ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 1969 to 1988 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

Bernau did the Reich Labor Service and military service from 1943 to 1945, during which he was taken prisoner of war. After the Second World War, he passed the Matura and studied law at the University of Vienna , where he completed his studies with the academic degree Dr. jur. completed. From 1954 to 1962 he worked as a foreign trade fair advisor for the Federal Chamber of Commerce and between 1963 and 1987 he was head of the Lower Austria Economic Development Institute. In addition, he was ÖVP state party secretary from 1966 to 1980 and represented the ÖVP in the state parliament from December 4, 1969 to November 17, 1988. In 1984 he succeeded Hans Kellner as ÖVP club chairman in the Lower Austrian state parliament, a position he held until 1988. Bernau also served as President of the Hypo-Bank Supervisory Board between 1981 and 1999.

Bernau is a member of the Catholic student union KaV Norica Vienna .
