Otto Busch (architect)
Otto Busch (born before 1899; died after 1914) was a German architect in German Southwest Africa , today's Namibia . Along with Friedrich Höft , Otto Ertl , Gottlieb Redecker and Wilhelm Sander, he was one of the most important architects and civil engineers of the German colony at the time .
Busch came to German South West Africa in 1905. He left the country in 1914 with his wife Minna (née Schiller) for a home vacation. Due to the outbreak of World War I in South West Africa , they were never able to return
buildings
Busch was best known for planning and building magnificent villas in the villa district on Schanzenhügel (at that time Boysenhügel) in Windhoek . He built a total of 198 buildings, five of which were not residential buildings. His buildings include:
- Green wreath bowling alley (1905)
- Green Wreath Hall (1906)
- Villa Kiesewetter (1906)
- Villa Wasserfall (1907)
- Gym (1909)
- August Stauch House
- Villa Lanwers (1908)
- Imperial Crown (1909)
- Villa colony with six villas (1913/14)
