Otto Edel

Otto Edel (born June 26, 1943 in Pegau ) is a German painter and former politician ( SPD ). From 1985 to 1995 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

biography

Otto Edel came to Berlin in 1950 and completed an apprenticeship as a window designer. After a few years in the job, he completed further training as a programmer. In 1976 he received a diploma from the Berlin Administrative Academy. Edel moved to Altlandsberg in the Märkisch-Oderland district in 1992 and has been working there as a freelance painter, particularly with architecture and landscape themes, since 2001.

politics

Edel has been a member of the SPD since 1972. From 1975 to 1985 he held a mandate in the Schöneberg District Assembly , then until 1995 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives. There he was temporarily the building policy spokesman for his group. From 1996 to 2000 district councilor for urban development, environment and economy in the district office of Berlin-Schöneberg.

From 1976 to 1980 he was department chairman in Schöneberg, then until 1990 district chairman of his party.
