Otto Geiss (born August 5, 1939 in Augsburg ; † November 26, 2005 there ) was a German painter .

Life

Otto Geiss saw himself driven to painting from childhood. He experienced the peak of his work in the 1970s and 80s. In 1970 he received the Augsburg Art Prize. His often large-format pictures with bizarre quotes from mythology, eroticism and the world of fantasy were in great demand with collectors. Some of his best works hang in the Walter Art Museum .
