Otto Nawrocki

Otto Nawrocki (born April 29, 1923 in Walsleben ) is a German senior athlete from Stendal .

successes

  • At the XVI. Winckelmann Games 2013 in Stendal, he set two German records.
  • At the Senior World Championships 2013 in Porto Alegre , he won silver and ran the German best over 200 meters.
  • At the 2009 European Championships in Ancona , he won gold in the 60-meter run and silver in the long jump .

On July 6, 1998, at the Wartburg in Eisenach, he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his voluntary work in senior sports from the hands of the then Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Norbert Blüm .

As a trainer in the roller sports department at BSG Lok Stendal , he led his athletes to success in roller-speed skating at GDR championships and Spartakiads .

Life

In 1937 he began an apprenticeship as a locksmith . From 1942 to 1945 he was a mountain fighter in World War II . After the war he started further training in telecommunications, which led to the Reichsbahn in Stendal .
