Otto Rosing (director)

Otto Rosing (born March 9, 1967 in Ilulissat ) is a Greenlandic director .

Life

Otto Rosing is the son of a Greenlander and a Dane and the older brother of the politician Michael Rosing (* 1968) and the actor Lars Rosing (* 1972). He grew up in Ilulissat but lived in Nuuk and Copenhagen . In the 1990s he began to work in film. In 2004 he published the documentary Den evige flyver about Jens Rosing . In 2009, together with Torben Bech, he directed the first Greenlandic feature film Nuummioq , which was nominated at the Sundance Film Festival 2010 and which was the Greenlandic entry for the best foreign language film for the 2011 Academy Awards . In 2019 he released his second feature film Ukiutoqqami Pilluaritsi . He was also a production manager and assistant director for several short films.
