Otto Schaaber
Otto Schaaber (born November 30, 1913 ; died August 12, 1981 ) was a German physicist and professor of physics and worked in the field of heat treatment of steels, in particular he devoted himself to the thermodynamic transformation processes of iron in the bainite stage . From 1954 to 1981 he headed the Institute for Hardening Technology Bremen, today's Institute for Materials Technology , where important foundations for materials technology were laid. Together with Walter Stuhlmann, he was responsible for the establishment of the "International Association for Heat Treatment of Materials" (IVW) based in Zurich and developed the former hardening technology notices for the German-language scientific and technical journal for heat treatment and materials technology, and brought them to international rank.
