Otto Tannenberg

Otto Richard Tannenberg (* in the 19th century; † in the 20th century) was a German geographer and pangermanist .

Tannenberg was a pioneer of National Socialism and influenced Heinrich Himmler with his book Groß-Deutschland (1911), in which he promoted a Germany that includes the Netherlands , Belgium , Lorraine , Poland and the Baltic States . The book was translated into several languages ​​and received particularly in Romance-speaking countries .

The Otto Tannenberg lignite mine in Körbisdorf was named after him.
