Ottokar von Knieriem

Johann Conrad Ottokar von Knieriem (born August 4, 1893 at Petershof near Olai , Latvia, † May 1, 1966 in Königstein im Taunus ) was a bank director.

His father Woldemar von Knieriem (1849–1935) was an agronomist and rector of the Riga Polytechnic . He was married to Sophie Bertholet De Villebois († 1895) and Ottokar's mother Elisabeth Martha Alexandra Kupffer (1864–1947), with whom he had two and three children, respectively. Ottokar's sister Elisabeth was the mother of Olof Palme .

In 1919 he worked in Latvia as an orderly officer in the staff of General and Freikorpsführer Rüdiger von der Goltz .

Ottokar von Knieriem was director of Libauer Bank AG, a subsidiary of Dresdner Bank. He later became a representative of Dresdner Bank AG in Stockholm .

After the Second World War , the Allies charged him with being a National Socialist. On the basis of testimony from Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg, he was acquitted.
