The Ounasvaara [ ˈɔu̯nɑsvɑːrɑ ] is a 204 meter high mountain in the city of Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland . The local mountain Rovaniemi rises directly opposite the city center on the left bank of the Kemijoki -Flusses. At the foot of the mountain lies the Ounasrinne district . The wooded Ounasvaara is a popular recreational area for the people of Rovaniemi. It also houses a ski sports center with seven slopes and a ski jumping hill with a hill size of 100 meters, on which the competitions of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup are held.
