The Outhere Brothers
The Outhere Brothers are an American hip hop and US dance floor duo.
history
Chicago , Illinois-based lyricist Craig "Malik" Simpkins and producer Lamar "Hula" Mahone merged in 1987 to form The Outhere Brothers. In terms of style, they were more European, so that their breakthrough came in the early 1990s in the European club scene. With Fuk U in the Ass they had their first big hit, which even hit the singles charts in the Netherlands. With the title Pass the Toilet Paper they had another hit, which this time made it to number 10 in the charts in Austria.
They had made so much talk of themselves through their blunt lyrics that their next single Don't Stop (Wiggle Wiggle) was even more successful. It immediately landed number one in the UK . The successor Boom Boom Boom was not only able to repeat the success in Great Britain, it also reached number one in Germany , it was in the top 10 throughout Europe and sold over a million singles. The two songs were the only ones that were successful in their native USA.
With the fifth single La La La Hey Hey , which was also another European success, their debut album 1 Polish, 2 Biscuits & a Fish Sandwich (in a lyrically defused version it was released again as The Party Album ) was then exhausted. Another song, the joint project If You Wanna Party with the Italian DJ Molella , was still a moderate success at the end of 1995.
After a one-year break, the single Let Me Hear You Say Ole Ole was released in 1997 , but it disappointed and the second album The Other Side was even a real flop. And just as quickly as the Outhere Brothers had risen, so were they. Malik released the unsuccessful solo single You Don't Know Malik in 2000 . In 2003 and 2004 two best-of albums by the duo were released, but they could no longer arouse interest in the two hip-hoppers.
