description
The Ovimbundu sword has a straight, single-edged blade. The blade becomes wider from the handle and tapers in place . The booklet is made of wood and partly wrapped with metal wire. The pommel is often depicted as a human head. The Ovimbudu sword is used by the Ovimbundu ethnic group from Angola . But this usage has been purely symbolic - ritual for about a century.
