Eva-Maria Voigt

Eva-Maria Voigt (born January 5, 1921 in Hamburg ; † July 26, 2013 in Waldkirch ) was a German classical philologist .

Eva-Maria Voigt studied Classical Philology at the University of Hamburg during the Second World War and received her doctorate in 1945 with the dissertation on Nominal and Verbal Flexion with Sappho and Alkaios . From 1955 to 1984 Voigt worked as editor and editor of the Lexicon of the Early Greek Epic , which was completed in 2010. She also worked as a professor of classical philology at the University of Hamburg. She retired in April 1983, which she spent in Waldkirch

In addition to her lexicographical work, Voigt is best known for her edition of the fragments by Sappho and Alkaios (Amsterdam 1971). Her research on Grammar on Sappho and Alkaios (Berlin 1957) appeared under the name Eva-Maria Hamm .
