Oxer

In show jumping, an oxer is a high jump , an obstacle that the horse not only has to jump up but also "forwards". In contrast to the double rope , the rear part of the obstacle only consists of one bar (Oxer bar). An oxer may therefore only be jumped in one direction. The width of the oxer is determined in jumping competitions of the FN depending on the level. The minimum width in the lowest class is 1 meter at a minimum height of 80 cm. In the highest classes, oxers can be up to 160 cm high and 2 m wide. An oxer whose top front bar is just as high as the rear one is known as a Karéeoxer . Oxers in which the rear bar is X steps higher than the front bar are called X over Karée .

A triple bar is a high long jump, usually with three ascending elements. You have to ride closer to a triple bar than to an oxer, as the jump curve is not very high at the beginning and only rises further back.
