The Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities ( OSCOLA ) is the modern standard work on legal citation in the United Kingdom. The great number of courts and universities conform to him. Among the publishers, Oxford University Press , Hart Publishing , Edward Elgar Publishing , Taylor & Francis , de Gruyter , Brill , Merkourios and Emerald use OSCOLA. OSCOLA was developed in 2000 by Peter Birks from the University of Oxford and has been in its 4th edition since 2010.

Alternative models are the ALWD Citation Manual and the Bluebook in the United States , the Australian Guide to Legal Citation in Australia and the McGill Guide in Canada.
