Oxford University Cricket Club

The Oxford University Cricket Club (OUCC) is a first-class cricket team that represents Oxford University . He plays his home games in the University Parks (usually The Parks for short ) in Oxford . The club was founded in 1881.

Since 2001 it has risen together with the team from Oxford Brookes University in the Oxford University Center of Cricketing Excellence (Oxford UCCE), as games for the MCC Universities Championship and first-class matches against the first-class county clubs under this common name and Organization. The OUCC is otherwise an independent cricket club.

Oxford University made its first-class cricket debut in 1827 against the Cambridge University Cricket Club , the first ever university match . The OUCC will continue to play this first-class match and a number of other games independently of the Oxford UCCE.

By 1729 at the latest, cricket was being played at Oxford University. This is known from the English lexicographer Samuel Johnson , who later reported on his student days that he had played cricket at Oxford University that year.
