The Jōetsu College of Education ( Japanese 上 越 教育 大学 , Jōetsu kyōiku daigaku ) is a state university in Japan . It was founded in 1978 and is located in Jōetsu , Niigata Prefecture . The abbreviation of the university is college (Japanese Jōkyōdai, 上 教 大).
Faculties
- The Pedagogical Faculty (Japanese 学部, gakubu, Bachelor) trains teachers for the elementary level and early childhood education.
- The higher faculty serves as a graduate school for advanced teacher students and the master’s program (Japanese 研究 科, Kenkyū-ka).
- The Faculty of Education for Doctoral Studies ( Ph. D. ) (Japanese 学校 教育 学部, Gakkōkyōikugakubu), opened in 1996, is run jointly with the Hyōgo and Naruto University of Education and the University of Okayama .
