history
The Kyoto College of Education was founded in 1949 through the merger of two state normal schools . These were:
- the normal school Kyōto ( 京都 師範学校 , Kyōto shihan gakkō ) and
- the normal youth school Kyōto ( 京都 青年 師範学校 , Kyōto his shihan gakkō , in Kyōtamba ).
Kyōto normal school
The Kyōto Normal School was founded in 1876 as the Kyōto Prefectural Normal School ( 京都 府 師範学校 , Kyōto-fu shihan gakkō ). The school was initially located near the former imperial palace . She changed her seat a few times and moved to Murasakino in 1899 ( 紫 野 , literally "purple field", 35 ° 2 ′ 23.5 ″ N , 135 ° 45 ′ 15.4 ″ E ). There the graduates founded the football club Kyōto Shikō Club ( 京都 紫 郊 ク ラ ブ ) in 1922 , which later developed into the Kyōto Sanga .
In 1908 the women's department became the Kyōto Prefectural Women's Normal School. From 1910 she was in Momoyama, Fushimi-ku.
In 1943, the two prefectural normal schools were raised to a state educational college, the normal school was called Kyōto. The affiliated elementary and middle schools of the Kyoto University of Education are now located in the former Murasakino and Momoyama campuses.
Youth Normal School Kyōto
The normal youth school in Kyōto was founded in 1926 as a prefectural training institution for teachers at the vocational supplementary schools. In 1935, when the new school type Seinen Gakkō ( 青年 学校 , dt. "Youth School") was created, it became a training institution for teachers at the youth schools .
In 1944 it became the Kyōto state youth normal school. The normal school was first at the same location as the normal school Kyōto (Murasakino), and moved to Takahara (today: Kyōtamba) in 1945. Today the attached farm (cow pasture) of the University of Kyoto is located on the former campus in Kyōtamba ( 35 ° 10 ′ 39.6 ″ N , 135 ° 25 ′ 12.5 ″ E ).
Kyoto University of Education
The University of Education was opened in 1949 as the University of Liberal Arts Kyōto ( 京都 学 芸 大学 , Kyōto gakugei daigaku ). It initially had three locations in Murasakino, Momoyama and Takahara (Kyōtamba). In 1957, today's Fujimori campus was opened, and the departments moved to the new campus. In 1966 the college was renamed Kyōto School of Education. In 1990 she founded the Graduate School (master’s courses).
