Pætur við Keldu

Pætur við Keldu [ ˈpɛatʊɹ viː tʃɛldʊ ] (born June 18, 1970 in Klaksvík , Faroe Islands ) is a Faroese musician and composer. In addition to singing, he has mastered various musical instruments.

Pætur is the son of Gigga and Jógvan við Keldu . He started making music at an early age and released a number of CDs in the Faroe Islands. At the end of 2001 he received the surprising news that his song Som en drøm (like a dream) was among the first 10 songs for the nomination for the Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark . In the national finals, he came in fourth. That was his breakthrough at home.

Pætur við Keldu now lives and works in the Danish capital, Copenhagen .
