Matthias Pöhm (born January 9, 1960 in Lohr am Main ) is a freelance rhetoric trainer . He also works as a freelance writer.

Pöhm was born the youngest of nine children. He first completed a degree in communications technology before going self-employed in 1997. He lives in Bonstetten near Zurich .

The engineer came to rhetoric in a roundabout way: According to his own statements, he had a key experience in 1990 when he was asked to speak unprepared at a works meeting. The experience of speaking spontaneously in front of a larger group prompted him to attend rhetoric courses and to practice public speaking. In 1997 he made his name as coach independently .

Matthias Pöhm teaches techniques for spontaneous, free speech , body language and quick-wittedness . For him, quick-wittedness means being able to spontaneously parry “verbal attacks”.

He volunteered for 7 years in Switzerland at the Karlheinz Böhm Foundation “ People for People ” on the Board of Trustees and was the founder of the Swiss anti-Powerpoint party.
