transparency

Menschen für Menschen has independent external auditors and internal auditors in Ethiopia . The external auditors go through the Foundation's receipts monthly, examine whether national laws have been complied with and whether the prices for the goods and services are in line with the market. The internal auditors go into the project areas and examine whether each expenditure is plausible and in accordance with the project plan.

For every product that costs more than 1000 birr (approx. 30 euros), buyers have to obtain three different offers. The invoice is always paid cashless , namely by check . Each check is signed by the head of administration of the foundation in Addis Ababa as well as by the Ethiopian country representative or his deputy.

The organization's need for money in Ethiopia fluctuates depending on the workload. Therefore, only the sums actually required from Germany, Austria and Belgium are used for the work in Ethiopia.
