The PAC P-750 XSTOL (formerly known as the PAC 750XL) is a multi-purpose aircraft produced by the New Zealand manufacturer Pacific Aerospace .

History and construction

The PAC P-750 XSTOL is a conventional all-metal low - wing aircraft with a fixed nose wheel landing gear and consists primarily of the drive and the wings of the PAC Cresco with a new, larger fuselage and modified stern. The aircraft is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-34AG propeller turbine with 560 kW (750 PS). The first flight took place in 2001.

Originally, the machine was designed to meet the need for skydiver dropping planes. Like its predecessor, the Cresco, the machine is ideally suited for this purpose, as it can quickly be on the ground again due to its high possible rate of descent, in order to transport parachutists again to the jump height of 3700 m with its high climbing performance . Another feature is the good short take-off and landing ability (STOL), to which the extension of the type designation refers. Its lowest speed with the flaps extended is 45 Kt (83.3 km / h).

The aircraft is also marketed for other tasks. In addition to the multi-purpose role, it is also sold for freight or passenger transport, as an agricultural aircraft , fire-fighting aircraft or for aerial photography and surveying. One copy is also used for aeromagnetic studies . The machine can also be equipped with skis or swimmers , and it can also be used on unpaved slopes. For passenger or cargo flights, the cabin can be equipped with up to 9 seats or used entirely as a cargo space. The cargo variant has a double cargo hold door in the rear part of the cabin. A cargo box under the fuselage is also available as an option to increase transport capacity.
