In PC-Kaufmann of the company Sage Software GmbH is an enterprise resource planning software (ERP software) for small businesses. It was originally developed by the KHK company in Frankfurt and first published in 1989 in a DOS version. After the takeover of KHK by the English Sage Group, the software was incorporated into their product range.

The software was developed in versions with different program sizes, which are geared to the different needs of the company sizes. The current version is PC-Kaufmann 2014 and also the last version. PC-Kaufmann was discontinued in 2014 as part of a streamlining of the Sage product portfolio and GS-Produkt is the successor software. The GS order comes from Gandke & Schubert, which Sage took over in 2002.

The software has three special features:

  • On the one hand, the software represents a complete system with all functions for commercial corporate management. Order processing, financial accounting and key figure analysis are combined in one program and are used from a common database.
  • On the other hand, the software includes (in addition to classic booking entry) a booking entry according to business transactions. The postings are not recorded in the classic debit-to-credit manner, but according to defined business transactions (e.g. invoice receipt, goods receipt, general posting with debit split, ...).
  • The software is multi-tenant. A user such as B. Tax office can do the accounting for several completely different companies in one installation.
