PDF-XChange is software for creating, displaying and printing PDF files. Among other things, it is compatible with Windows software such as Word , Excel , AutoCAD and MS Publisher . The program is currently offered as a PDF-XChange editor .
Versions
The programs are offered as free freeware versions and are sold with extended functions as “Pro” or “Plus” versions.
The “PDF-XChange Viewer” was freeware for displaying PDF files and thus an alternative to the widely used Adobe Acrobat Reader . Development was discontinued in 2017 in favor of the PDF-XChange Editor , the free version of which contains all the functions of the PDF-XChange Viewer.
In 2012 there were the versions PDF-XChange Pro for creating and editing PDF documents including "Tools" and "Viewer", PDF-XChange Standard without the tools and PDF-XChange Lite with reduced functions. All versions ran under Microsoft Windows from version Windows XP and were compatible with the terminal servers from Microsoft and Citrix .
In 2013 a version 3.0 was offered, in 2014 version 5.5 and 2016 version 6.0.
The "PDF-XChange Editor" version has been available since 2017 (Version 7.0). The basic functions are free of charge; a license must be purchased for extended functions. There is also a “Plus” version for fillable PDF forms.
