PNS Hameed

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PNS Hameed ( Urdu پی این ایس حمید کی) is a coastal radio station of the Pakistani Navy near Karachi in the southern province of Sindh . The station was opened in November 2016 and is equipped, among other things, with a longitudinal wave transmitter for submarine communication. The station can reach Pakistani submarines to a depth of 20 meters. It was named after Lieutenant Commander Pervaiz Hameed Shaheed, a former executive officer of PNS Ghazi , the Pakistani Navy's first hunting submarine.

The station was also built against the backdrop of the expansion of the Pakistani Navy. The country ordered eight Chinese -made submarines powered by outside air , which are to be delivered between 2022 and 2028. The aim is to build one of the largest submarine fleets in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. Template: future / in 2 years
