Maunu played his first and only international tournament with the Four Hills Tournament 1974/75 . At the opening competition on December 29, 1974, Maunu jumped on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf as the best Finn on the eighth place and reached 198.8 points. Despite this success, he did not take part in the other jumps of the tour and then finished the tour in 84th place overall.
