Packington Hall (Warwickshire)
Packington Hall is a country house in the settlement Great Packington in Meriden in the English county of Warwickshire . The 17th century house was the seat of the Earls of Aylesford . English Heritage has it as a historical building II *. Grade listed.
history
Sir Clement Fisher had the country house built in 1693; after his death in 1729, the Packington estate fell to his daughter Mary , who married Heneage Finch, 2nd Earl of Aylesford .
The park of the country house was designed by Capability Brown .
In 1772 the house was significantly expanded and redesigned in the Palladian style according to plans by Josef Bonomi .
A fire in 1979 seriously damaged the house, but it has since been fully restored.

Packington Hall is usually not open to the public, but it can be booked for conferences and events.
Other buildings on the property
A former manor house - Packington Old Hall - and the 18th century parish church of St James are on the property.
