Paddle Club Hanover

The Paddel-Klub Hannover eV (PKH) is a canoeing club in Hanover . The club is a member of the German Canoe Association . The club's headquarters are in the Döhren district on the Leine flowing through Hanover .

The association was founded in December 1930. At first it was a canoeing club with a focus on canoe racing . The two-time German K1 champion, Siegfried Gunkel, came from his ranks.

In later years, the club's activities shifted to today's focus on popular sport. Canoeing , whitewater paddling , sea ​​kayaking and large water trips are all practiced. An extensive sports program with around 40 club trips per year is offered in these disciplines. The association has repeatedly received awards from the German Canoe Association for its commitment to training. With around 400 members, the club is one of the largest canoeing clubs in Lower Saxony.
