Paddy Schmidt (born February 16, 1963 in Detmold ; bourgeois Harald Kligge ) is a German singer , entertainer , instrumentalist and songwriter . He is considered the head of the folk rock band Paddy Goes to Holyhead , which he founded in 1988 and left for three years in 2001 to devote himself to his solo program. Today, Paddy Schmidt works largely independently on the development of his entertainment program Celtic Continental Music . The folk musician became known for his interpretation of the Celtic harmonica , which enables the player to use new techniques to modulate even the difficult passages of the fast and triplet ornamentation of Celtic musical works - especially the jigs and reels . Paddy Schmidt's music is attributed to Irish Folk or Celtic Folk . Since March 1, 2005, Paddy Schmidt has been the head of Paddy Goes to Holyhead again. With over 250 performances a year, he is on tour across Europe, alternately solo and with a band.
