Padre Iceland National Seashore is a US reserve the type of a National Seashore . It covers a long section of the northern part of Padre Island on the Gulf Coast in the US state of Texas .
The park consists of largely pristine coastline and the dune landscape of the narrow island ( spit ) behind it . It is particularly interesting for nature lovers in the period of bird migration , as many migratory birds rest there on their way across the Gulf of Mexico . The coastline is the longest undeveloped beach in the entire United States .
