Aelia Paetina
Aelia Paetina († after 48) was the second wife of the later Roman emperor Claudius .
Life
Aelia Patina came from the Aelii family and was the daughter of a consular, probably the Sextus Aelius Catus , who had held the consulate in the year 4 . She married Claudius in the year 28. Their only child, Claudia Antonia , was born in 30. Claudius divorced her a year later for unclear reasons. After the death of his third wife Valeria Messalina , he considered marrying her again, but then decided on his niece Agrippina the younger .
