Pakoros
Pakoros II. († 115 ) ruled the Parthian Empire from around 77 to 105 (the exact details vary with different authors). After Cassius Dio he sold the kingdom of Osrhoene to Abgar VII, and after Ammianus Marcellinus he expanded the Ctesiphon and built walls there.
He always appears on his numerous coins as Arsaces Pacoros . The mention of his name in connection with the royal title Arsaces may indicate that his rule was controversial. Three of the opposing kings are known from coins: Vologaeses II. , Approx. 78–80, Artabanos III. , approx. 79/80 and Vologaeses III. to 105.
During his reign (97 and 101), Gan Ying - who actually wanted to go to Rome but was told that this trip would take another two years - came from China to Parthia, where he was received by a King Man-chi'iu. The king sent lions and ostriches to China.
After the death of Pakoros his brother Osroes I followed him in the rule.
