The Palácio do Povo (Palace of the People), also Palácio do Mindelo , formerly the Palácio do Governador (Governor's Palace) is a building in the east of Mindelo on the Cape Verde island of São Vicente . The building erected in 1874 was partially extended between 1928 and 1934 and measures around 100 by 50 meters. Its facade points to Rua Libertadores d'África (formerly Rua Lisboa), to the north is Rua Franz Fanon, to the west the southern end of Avenida Baltazar Lopez , named after Baltasar Lopes da Silva , and to the south, Avenida Fernando Ferreira Forte . To the east there is a park with a monument to Adriano Durante (1892–1961). The colonial-style building takes up architectural elements from India . The middle part of the building is two-story, the sides one-story. The walls are designed in pink and white, the shutters light green. A garden and a university campus surround the building.

The building is used for changing exhibitions. In 1997 the art exhibition Mitomorfoses with works by Mito Elias took place in the building . In 2018 an exhibition is dedicated to the Cape Verdean singer Cesária Évora .
