Marcelo da Silva Moço (born May 13, 1979 in Rio de Janeiro , † November 22, 2009 in Parndorf , Austria ) was a Brazilian soccer player .

Career

Marcelo started his career at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . He then played for the União São João , AA Portuguesa , the Club Blooming in Bolivia and Rabotnički Skopje in Macedonia .

Marcelo came to the Austrian second division SC-ESV Parndorf 1919 from SE Matonense in January 2007 . In March 2007 he made his debut in the second division when he was in the starting line-up against TSV Hartberg on matchday 21 of the 2006/07 season and was replaced by Mario Schöny in the 84th minute . He scored his first goal for Parndorf in April 2007 in a 1-0 win over Hartberg. With Parndorf, he was relegated to the regional league in 2008 .

After a season in the regional league, in which Marcelo had played seven games, he moved to the fifth-class ASK-BSC Bruck / Leitha for the 2009/10 season .

death

On November 22, 2009, Marcelo committed suicide by hanging in an apartment block in Parndorf . The day before, he had completed a test match for Bruck, and on the same day his driver's license was withdrawn after being drunk at the wheel .

Personal

Marcelo was divorced, leaving behind an eight-year-old daughter at the time of his death. His brother Marco Aurélio (* 1977) was also a soccer player.
