The Palais Albrecht (today's address: Dr.-Ignaz-Seipel-Platz 3) was a stately, four-story baroque palace in the old town of Vienna . It was directly connected to the still existing building of the Old University at a right angle and formed an essential part of the harmonious space structure until 1903.

Little is known about the origin of the building. In 1690 and 1692 the two houses standing here (No. 758 and 759) were acquired by the imperial councilor and court chamber secretarius Franz Gottlieb von Albrecht and his wife Eva Maria. The conversion to a baroque palace took place at the beginning of the 18th century, no architect is known, but contemporary images show the quality of the stately building. In 1705 the widow left the building to her stepson Conrad Adolf von Albrecht. According to the information given under an engraving by Salomon Kleiners , the landlord designed the magnificent facade of the building himself. Towards the end of the 18th century, the palace was auctioned off to Andre Hilebrand von Prandau; from 1853 it was owned by Karl and Rudolf Auspitz , the latter known as an industrialist, economist and member of the Reichsrat. In 1872 the building was acquired by the kk-privileged mutual fire damage insurance company, which already speaks for a (then common) functional rededication and use as an apartment building . At that time, Rudolf Auspitz and relatives, the Lieben family, built a new, Wilhelminian-style interest palace next to the Burgtheater (Oppolzergasse 6). The baroque building of Palais Albrecht was demolished in 1903, and Rudolf Demski built a six-storey apartment building from the late founding period with a secessionist facade decor in its place .
