Brongniart Palace
The Palais Brongniart is located in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris and is now the seat of the four-country Euronext stock exchange . The building used to house the Paris Stock Exchange and was therefore also called Palais de la bourse (Palace of the Stock Exchange).
history
In 1807, Napoléon Bonaparte commissioned the architect Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart to build the Paris Stock Exchange. However, he died before the building was completed on June 6, 1813. Of the many candidates who applied for successors, such as B. François-Joseph Bélanger and Louis-Pierre Baltard , Eloi Labarre (1764–1833) finally prevailed and completed the construction in November 1825.
