Kemal Yalçın
Kemal Yalçın (* 1952 in Denizli , Turkey ) is a bilingual publication forming German - Turkish writer , who has won several awards.
The teacher trained in Turkey and studied philosopher was editor of the newspaper Halkin Yolu (Eng .: way of the people) until 1981 he had to flee to Germany for political reasons. Today he works as a teacher in Bochum . At times he was also a lecturer in the Turkish department at the University of Essen.
Coming from the group of authors around the literary café Fakir Baykurt , he has written not only poetry but also novels - often with a documentary claim. For books like Seninle Güler Yüregim / Mit dir lacht mein Herz (2002), which tries to deal with the genocide of the Armenians in Turkey in 1915 on the basis of extensive research, the author received international attention. For example, he wrote the book When my Grandpa Came to Germany (2006) for children .
