The 2nd arrondissement of Paris , the Arrondissement de la Bourse , is the smallest arrondissement in the city of Paris with an area of ​​99 hectares .


The 2nd arrondissement is the result of the city's expansion to the north during the 15th and 16th centuries . However, the first buildings were built in the 14th century . At that time, the city wall built by Charles V extended to today's Rue d'Aboukir . Under Louis XIII.
