The 564 hectare 14th arrondissement ( Arrondissement de l'Observatoire ) is one of 20 arrondissements in the French capital, Paris .
location
The arrondissement is located on the left bank of the Seine and borders the 13th to the east, the 15th to the west and the 5th and 6th arrondissement to the north .
District
The 14th arrondissement consists of the following four districts:
- Quartier du Montparnasse
- Quartier du Parc de Montsouris
- Quartier du Petit-Montrouge
- Quartier de Plaisance
According to the official census of the Parisian neighborhoods, these are Quartiers 53 to 56.
Demographics
According to the 2006 census, there were 134,370 registered residents in the 564 hectare 14th Arrondissement. This corresponds to a population density of 23,824 inhabitants per km². This means that 6.2% of the Paris population have their main residence in this arrondissement.
