Leprosy ( English for leprosy ) is the second album by the American death metal band " Death ". A promotional demo preceded the album .

background

After Chuck Schuldiner moved back to Florida, drummer Chris Reifert stayed in California and founded Autopsy .

The material is very Thrash Metal- heavy. The songs were all written by Chuck Schuldiner , only with the title Primitive Ways Rick Rozz helped out as a "songwriter". This was mainly due to the fact that Schuldiner had put together a completely new line-up . He recruited all three musicians (Rick Rozz, Terry Butler, Bill Andrews) from the band Massacre . Kam Lee was the only member left. Rick Rozz and Kam Lee had both played in the previous Death band Mantas.

Terry Butler is given as bass player . However, Schuldiner claimed that he had recorded the bass tracks from Leprosy and the follow-up album Spiritual Healing himself, as Butler found it too difficult to record the material.
