The Palais Minucci

The Palais Minucci is a palace on Salvatorplatz in the old town of Munich and was built in its current form as the city palace of Count Minucci in 1731.

history

The three-storey mansard roof building with eleven window axes stands on the property of the former Theatine monastery that Lorenzo Perti built in 1675. In 1731, as a new building or redesign of an existing house for Count Ferdinand von Minucci, today's building was built in late Baroque style with a rococo facade. The style points to the manner of Johann Georg Gunetzrhainer . 1954–57 an extension was built in Salvatorstrasse for the Ministry of Culture . From 1893 to 2012 this was the headquarters of the Hugendubel bookstore . Then a bathroom supplier moved into the Hugendubel premises.

To the east of the Palais Minucci on Salvatorstr. 20 was once the Palais Waldkirch (Palais Vacchiery) from the last quarter of the 18th century. Largely destroyed in 1944, the remains were removed and the site is still partially undeveloped.
