Palazzo Algarotti Corniani (also Palazzo Corniani degli Algarotti or simply Palazzo Algarotti ) is a palace in Venice in the Italian region of Veneto . It is located in the Cannaregio sestiere with a view of the Rio de la Panada .

history

The palace was built in the mid-16th century for the Stella patrician family . In the 1720s the property fell to the brothers Bonomo and Francesco Algarotti , who had it modernized, probably by Tommaso Temanza . Later, Bernadino Corniani Algarotti opened the palace to the public with the valuable art collection of his ancestor Marcantonio Corniani Algarotti . Today the palace is in a poor state of preservation, although part of the interior decoration has been preserved.

The palace has three full floors and a mezzanine above the ground floor. The main floor with the Venetian window in the middle is particularly remarkable .
