Gonzaga-Acerbi Palace

The Palazzo Gonzaga-Acerbi is a historical palace of Castel Goffredo in the province of Mantua in Italy . It forms the entire northern front of Piazza Mazzini in the center of the city.

Used by Luigi Alessandro Gonzaga di Castiglione to host his court from 1511 to 1549, it was the venue for a visit by Charles V , Holy Roman Emperor , in 1543 . The palazzo was the birthplace and residence of the patriot Giovanni Acerbi (1825–1869), who from April 27 to 29, 1862, had Giuseppe Garibaldi as a guest here.
