Pallavolo Femminile Matera was an Italian women's volleyball club from Matera ( Basilicata region ), which played in the Italian Serie A.

history

Pallavolo Femminile Matera was founded in 1976 and played in the top Italian division "Serie A1". The women played in the top group and became Italian champions in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995. There were also three Italian cup wins (1993, 1994 and 1995). Pallavolo Femminile Matera was also a top team in Europe. They won the CEV Cup in 1991 and 1992 and were Champions League winners in 1993 and 1996 . The team also competed under the sponsor names “Pescopagano Matera”, “Calia Matera”, “Latte Rugiada Matera”, “Parmalat Matera” and “Latte Lucano Matera”. In 2000 the association was dissolved due to financial difficulties.
