Pallieter is the main character of the novel of the same name by the writer Felix Timmermans from 1916 . In his novel, the Flemish author tells the story of the “bon vivant” Pallieter. Although this was not in Timmermans' sense, the figure became a symbol for the Flemish people. Pallieter has been translated into more than 40 languages.
