Pallonji Mistry (* 1929 ) is an Indian - Irish entrepreneur .

Life

Mistry comes from a Parish family and is a follower of Zoroastrianism . He heads the Irish- based construction company Shapoorji Pallonji Group , which he took over from his father. He holds a significant minority stake in the Tata Sons company . Major buildings in Mumbai were constructed by the construction company Shapoorji Pallonji Group , such as the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank, Grindlays Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, State Bank of India and Reserve Bank of India buildings .

In 2003, he gave up his Indian citizenship to take Irish citizenship. Mistry is married to Pat Perin Dubash from Ireland and has four children. His youngest son, Cyrus Pallonji Mistry , has been chairman of the Tata group since 2012 .
