The Palmer Bay is a 1.5 km wide bay on the north coast of Coronation Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located immediately west of Crown Head .
The British sealer captain George Powell and his American counterpart Nathaniel Palmer , after whom the bay is named, discovered it together in December 1821.
