The Panphuk Monastery or Benpo Monastery ( Tib . : dben po dgon ; Chin. Bangpu Si 蚌 普 寺 or Benbo si 奔波 寺) is a monastery of the Karma Kagyü School of Tibetan Buddhism in the Tibetan cultural region, founded in the 12th century Kham . It is located in Dabba County of the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous District in southwest China's Sichuan Province , one kilometer north of Sumdü Township on the Daocheng River. The monastery was founded by Karmapa Düsum Khyenpa (1110–1193), the first lama of the Karmapas incarnation series and founder of the order. It is at an altitude of 3940 meters.
