Panther painter
The panther painter was a vase painter of the Attic black-figure style.
The panther painter was probably active at the same time or a little later as the Nessos painter , with whom he shared a love for braided ribbons. His vases were only found in Attica but outside Athens , partly in Vari . It is therefore assumed that the panther painter did not come from Athens and only supplied a small regional market in the Attic interior. He primarily painted Lekaniden with animal friezes.
